Callum Hudson-Odoi is currently playing for Nottingham Forest in the EPL, and Eddie Nketiah, who is at Crystal Palace, wants to play for England after rising through their ranks after youth football, but they were used for some time and got dumped.

The Ghana Football Association has been chasing the two players alongside Francis Amuzu, who plays for Gremio in Brazil, but all of them were never ready to play for Ghana.

Francis Amuzu, in 2022, during an interview, revealed that the GFA had been calling his agent to get him to play for the Black Stars of Ghana, but he shut the door with hopes of playing for Belgium.

He stated that his heart belongs to Belgium even though he respects Ghana.

In August 2025, when Ghana was on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup 2026, Amuzu had decided to make his father happy by playing for Ghana after years of waiting for Belgium, which yielded no results.

The player’s decision has divided Ghanaian football lovers into two, with some considering the player, while the majority believe players who reject their African roots with the hope of playing for European teams should never be pardoned when they are rejected.
