The respected lawyers of Business mogul, Richard Nii Armah-Qauye, and his ex-wife, Joana Coffie, formerly identified as Joana Quaye, are reportedly battling it out both on social media and looking forward to meeting in court for an appeal.
Ex-wife of Mr. Richard dragged him to court after the divorce to get half of what they made together during their union, but the verdict of the court did not sit well with Joana Coffie.
Lawyer of the Plaintiff, Godfred Dame, former Attorney General of Ghana, has been going back and forth with the defendant’s lawyer, Thaddeus Sory, on Facebook after the court’s ruling.

These were Joana’s demands as Plaintiff.
- She wanted 50 million Cedis as compensation.
- Joana wanted a huge percentage of every property made during their union.
This was the court’s verdict.
- GH₵300,000 (lump sum)
- One-third share of a house in Dansoman
- Two Jaguar cars
- GH₵5,000 monthly child support for their children
Joana rejected the ruling, which came out on January 20, 2026, and is appealing.
Ahead of the next court sitting, the lawyers of both parties are going at each other on social media.
In a recent interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, Richard revealed his wife was just a secondary school leaver who had no degree, so all the wealth he has was made by his hard work.
This claim is a palpable falsehood, according to the lawyer Godfred Dame. The defendant is tarnishing the image of his client, which is highly unfair because he achieved this high success with the help of Joana Coffie.

Thaddeud Sory responded to the claims of Dame, saying he should stop being a crybaby on social media because the court is the battlefield.
It has been reported that the two lawyers are holding grudges against each other, and it dates back to when Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Getrude Torkonoo, was removed.
The report indicates that Thaddeus was a mastermind behind the petition that orchestrated the removal of the former chief justice.
One of her lawyers was Godfred Yeboah Dame, who is not on the opposite side of Thaddeus amid the Business mogul and his ex-wife’s divorce saga.
